COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Midtown is looking to recruit new businesses to Cross Country Plaza.

Construction on the new 2-story Publix Supermarket continues in the shopping center and developers say they are looking for a tenant for the old Publix store.

The owners of the plaza, Glenwood Development, met with residents to update them on the redevelopment plans for the center.

"It's a long-term, step-by-step process...as we all know, nothing comes instantly. Transitions are not fast, but we are excited about the changes there," said Anne King, executive director of Midtown Inc.

Developers announced Thursday evening in a public conversation that an AT&T store will be moving into the plaza. We are told that it will be located near the Wells Fargo bank.

If you would like to keep up with the project, check out Cross Country Plaza's Facebook page.
