PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) – The Phenix City council is trying to figure out a way to pay for tearing down the former Phenix Regional Hospital.
Earlier this week, the council voted to buy the hospital and demolish it to make way for a municipal complex. They are still finding out how much it will cost to tear it down but they hope to get a federal grant that will help with the cost.
The council is also thinking about a sales tax hike, similar to the one Opelika and Auburn passed this week.
