OPELIKA, AL (WTVM) – The Splash Park in Opelika is expected to reopen its doors Sunday.
The park was closed five days ago after several children tested positive for diseases after visiting the park.
The Alabama Department of Public Health says a total of four children who visited the Splash Park at the Opelika Sportsplex and Aquatic Center between June 12th and 18th have now tested positive for diseases.
The department says a total of six kids have been hospitalized with gastrointestinal illnesses also.
A supervisor at the park says it will reopen at 1 pm Sunday.
