COLUMBUS, GA -  Laquante Harviley, 21, was arrested Saturday night on felony charges of pimping.

Harviley appeared in Recorder's Court Monday morning and pleaded not guilty to pimping.

According to Columbus police, he was involved in directing a 16-year-old of girl to participate in prostitution.

Police say Harviley was collecting money from the 16-year-old and has set her up with over 100 different men over the period of two months.

In court, Harviley said he knew his girlfriend was prostituting, but he was borrowing money from her.  He also told the judge the girl told him she was 19 years old.

Columbus police say Harviley is a resident of the same neighborhood where Friday night's fatal shooting occurred.  They say both Harviley and the girl were witnesses in the investigation of the murder.

During the murder investigation, Columbus police say they discovered that Harviley was pimping the young girl.
