Kyle Carter Commits to Georgia

COLUMBUS (WTVM) - Columbus High ace Kyle Carter has verbally committed to the University of Georgia. His father confirmed the commitment to News Leader 9 saying Kyle is 100 percent committed to Georgia.

Carter set a school single-season record with 22 home runs this year. He led Columbus in batting average (.467), RBIs (47) and runs (51). On the mound he had a 9-4 record, a 2.33 ERA and 97 strikeouts this season.

He is one of the most coveted players in the state of Georgia, winning a Little League World Series in 2006, and back to back GHSA AAA State titles (2010, 2011). ranks Carter as the 16th best high school prospect in the country and the 30th best in the nation in the class of 2012. According to his father, Carter will go to UGA even if he is drafted in the first round next year.
