MACON, Ga. (AP) - Macon police say a body found near an apartment complex was that of missing law school graduate Lauren Giddings.
The 27-year-old Giddings graduated from Mercer law school in May and was living in the Barristers Hall apartments while she prepared to take the bar exam. She was last seen June 25.
Police said Wednesday the body has been identified.
On June 30, a friend of Giddings filed a missing person report. Later that morning, police found the body.
Since then, police have scoured Giddings' apartment as well as the adjacent apartment of Stephen McDaniel and sent their evidence to the FBI for testing.
Police charged McDaniel, a law school classmate of Giddings, with burglary last week. He is being held at the Bibb County jail.
