COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -  A man is in jail after murdering two people at an internet sweepstakes shop on Buena Vista Road Wednesday night.

Two people, 31-year-old Rebecca Wyatt and 25-year-old Fredrick Brown, were gunned down inside the Joycom Internet Shop on Buena Vista Road Wednesday night. It was a crime that shook the people who regularly shop at this strip mall.

"You see children here and the school is just right down the street. I just can't believe it's right here in this parking lot, really," Nikisha Wright told News Leader 9.

Not long after the shooting, police arrested 26-year-old Eric Huguley and charged him with the crime. Reports show Huguley walked into the shop and fired a pistol several times, striking both victims multiple times and killing them.

Dequann Newsome brings his little brother to the strip mall and couldn't believe this kind of crime happened there, "I am really surprised to hear about what happened. We got shopping here and eat here and I never knew someone would get killed right here."

Police found Wyatt and Brown lying on the floor inside the business, and they later found Huguley at a nearby hotel.

Eric Huguley has served time in prison before for drug charges. In February of this year, he was arrested with trespassing. Now, he is sitting back in jail for double murder.

He is facing two counts of murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

He will appear in Recorder's Court Friday morning.  Count on News Leader 9 to bring you the latest developments in this case.
