Bama's Dee Hart Undergoes Knee Surgery

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. Alabama freshman running back Dee Hart had knee surgery on Thursday morning.

"Dee Hart underwent knee surgery today with Dr. Lyle Cain for an injury sustained in the summer conditioning program," Alabama head coach Nick Saban said. "His status for the upcoming season will be determined at a later date."

Hart injured his knee on Tuesday during a 7-on-7 passing drill. Hart's high school coach, Riki Smith, told the Orlando Sentinel that Hart's goal is to be healed up in seven to ten months.

His injury leaves the Tide a little thin at running back, with Trent Richardson and Eddie Lacy expected to carry the load.
