Military wives pampered in CoUnT On MEE program

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Hair-stylist Wynter Patenaude is particpating in COUNT ON MEE, a program that started at Fort Bragg, then traveled to Fort Hood and now Fort Benning.

Hairstylists, like Patenaude, offer one free haircut a day for one year to military spouses.

"My grandfather was in the military and my father. My grandfather passed in 2007 and it's a way to give back to keep his memory alive," said Patenaude, hair stylist at Candy's Hair Salon.

Military wife, Suzanne Brewer heard about  Patenaude's free COUNT ON MEE service on Facebook. Brewer has two young children and although her husband is stateside, he works 16 hour days.

"Just a couple of days before I read it on Facebook, my husband told me he wanted me to get my hair done. Perfect timing -yes," said Brewer, "Ii feel very pampered. It's not very often I can get a way from my kids and do something for myself."
