Muggles, wizards, and magic wands: Final Harry Potter movie draws hundreds

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Will Harry live or die?  That is the question that draws thousands to theaters for the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 midnight premier.

For about a decade, we have watched a little wizard named Harry Potter and his friends battle against the Dark Lord Voldemort.  Now, we find out who comes out on top.  It is also what fans, Cory Blair, call the final good-bye.

"I grew up with Harry.  We did everything.  He was 11 when he went to Hogwarts.  I was 11 when I went to 6th grade.  So, it's kind of an end of childhood for me," said Blair.

Blair and his other muggle friends Jude Alexander and Julianna Lovelette have been waiting all year for this day.  They say Harry Potter helped make them who they are and at the midnight movie premier, they're dressed in wizard fashion to cheer on their old friend, practice a few spells of their own, and even show off Harry Potter tattoos.

"It's really emotional, I already know I'm going to cry.  I teared up earlier thinking about it," said Alexander.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 has already rocked box offices breaking records for online ticket sales.  Rob Kovacs with Carmike Cinemas said for local movie theaters, seeing Harry go is tough for another reason.

"It's been a staple for the last years.  We've become depend on it.  Harry Potter's been good to us over the years," said Kovacs.

While you have to wait to see the movie to find out what happens, unless you have read the books, this real life Harry, Hermoine, and Ron want to say one more thing.

"Thank you to J.K Rowling and to Daniel, Emma, and Rupert because they've done an amazing job," said Lovelette.
