Columbus restaurant helps girl undergoing treatment for brain tumor

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - For 7-year-old Tori Svenson this is not just an ordinary day at a Chick-fil-A restaurant in Columbus.  The restaurant on Bradley Park Drive opened its doors Thursday night for a fundraiser to help little Tori and her family.

Tori is undergoing treatment for a brain tumor. She admits she has her good and bad days.

"Whenever they give me fluids it's kind of easy but when they don't really don't because it's really better that way," said Tori.

"Depending on how many people come out, usually we do 20% or we will do 10% of overall sales from 5 to 8," said Tammy Maddox of Chick-Fil-A.

Money collected will go towards Tori's extensive medical expenses, which are piling up everyday.

She receives chemotherapy each week and spends extended amounts of time in the hospital, yet her family remains strong.

"You are changed overnight and you pray continuously and you absolutely have to learn to lean on the shoulders of the people that are willing to help support you."said Penny Svenson, Tori's mother.
