WEST POINT, GA (WTVM) - Saturday morning, a bobblehead doll, resembling Jason Sager of Home Instead Senior Care of Columbus, GA and FairFax, VA,  was duct taped to a weather balloon.

The balloon, equipped with a camera, was launched about 144,000 feet, or 20 miles, from the sky in West Point, GA.

The camera recording the journey was housed in a purple Home Instead lunch box with extra insulation and hand warmers.

Every move of the balloon was tracked by GPS software, but sensors tracking temperatures stopped recording at 91 degrees.

While the balloon made its way across Alabama state lines, crews at Auburn, AL's Home Instead, waited for the balloon to reach its final landing spot.

Tuesday, the balloon landed in Marbury, AL.

The bobblehead doll survived the fall to earth.  Video of its travels can now be seen on YouTube

The weather balloon project was sponsored by Home Instead Senior Care. Home Instead helps seniors remain independent, providing in-home care and respite for family members.
