COLUMBUS, GA (WXTX)- Some aspiring young Columbus dancers got a chance to learn a few moves from a star.  Season 7 Winner of "So You Think You can Dance," Lauren Froderman, visited Performance Dance Studio on Warms Springs Road Tuesday.

The 19-year-old dancer accepted the invitation to teach jazz and ballet through a mutual friend between   studio owner, Carrie Paris and Froderman's agent.  "We are so excited that she's here," said Paris.

Our WTVM's cameras captured Froderman in action.  Froderman was so engaging in her approach and captivated the students' attention from beginning to end.  "Everybody just has a really nice energy and my little kids-- they were so fun, so cute. At first, they were kind of shy. I showed them—I'm just a regular person that loves dance," stated Froderman.

Froderman didn't hold back teaching the kids the same fancy moves that took her to the top. "The older kids—they went for things I asked. I kind of pushed them; they went with it. I just really appreciate people who can go beyond their comfort zone.   So, I really enjoyed being here, added Froderman."

The dancing sensation said she was at a nearby cheerleading competition and heard about the auditions for the show.  She went with the intentions of just trying out, not to win.  The more she progressed through the competition her desire to win intensified.

After razzling and dazzling the judges she claimed the title as American's Favorite Dancer. The doors of opportunity have since opened up for Froderman in Hollywood. She's in high demand as a dance teacher.
