17-year-old suspect faces murder charges in killing of Georgia deputy

JONESBORO, Ga. (AP) - Authorities say they've obtained murder warrants for a teenager suspected of killing Clayton County sheriff's deputy Rick Daly south of Atlanta.

Georgia Bureau of Investigation agents tell WGCL-TV they've obtained warrants charging 17-year-old Jonathan Bun of Riverdale with one count each of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Clayton County Sheriff Kem Kimbrough said deputies from the sheriff's fugitive squad were looking to serve an arrest warrant on Bun and spotted him getting into a car near his home Wednesday afternoon.

He said they called for a patrol car to make a traffic stop, and Daly was 1 of the deputies in that car.

When Daly, 55, approached the car Bun was riding in, the sheriff said Bun got out and opened fire.
