Dozens of Alabama fans gathered early Friday morning at the Wynfrey Hotel in Hoover to catch a glimpse of Alabama head football coach Nick Saban.

Saban spoke to reporters shortly after 8 a.m. Friday to kick off the final day of SEC Media Days. Saban told reporters he is excited about the upcoming season, but admits his team has challenges, especially on the defensive line and at quarterback.

Saban said he is pleased with the progress of his two quarterbacks, A.J. McCarron and Phillip Sims, but would not say which quarterback he believes will start the season.

The Crimson Tide is expected to contend for the SEC Championship crown and possibly a national championship. Analysts believe the team's greatest conference challenge will come from LSU, which is returning lots of experienced players. LSU head coach Les Miles is scheduled to address reporters at SEC Media Days later in the day, along with Vanderbilt head coach James Franklin and Ole Miss head coach Houston Nutt.
