Justin Logan joined Storm Team 9 as weekend meteorologist in July 2011. His forecasts can be seen on WTVM News Leader 9 at 6pm and 11pm on the weekends.
He was born and raised in the heart of the Bluegrass, in Paris, Kentucky, a small town just outside of Lexington. Weather has been a lifelong passion of Justin's that was sparked by a tornado outbreak when he was in elementary school. From that day forward Justin knew that he wanted to be a Broadcast Meteorologist to let people know about the weather.
Justin attended Western Kentucky University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology along with a minor in Broadcast News. While at WKU he was part of the Storm Team and the award winning student newscast, ‘NewsChannel 12'.
After graduation Justin landed his first job as a freelance meteorologist at the station he grew up watching, WTVQ-TV in Lexington, Kentucky. He then joined our sister Raycom station KAIT-TV, in Jonesboro, Arkansas in November of 2008 and was there until joining Storm Team 9.
Justin has experience covering and forecasting everything from winter storms to tornadoes. He brings valuable experience covering severe weather to Storm Team 9. His favorite type of weather is snow, which we don't see much of here in the Valley. He is a member of the National Weather Association and the American Meteorological Society.
When Justin isn't in the weather center, he is either involved with his church, watching the Kentucky Wildcats, catching his favorite TV shows, or spending time with friends and family.
If you see him around town, he invites you to come over and introduce yourself. If you have any questions about the weather just shoot him an e-mail at jlogan@wtvm.com. Justin is proud to call the Valley his new home.
