COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – School starts in just a few weeks and after buying the new clothes for your kids and loading their backpacks with supplies make sure to get them vaccinated.
Employees at the Columbus Health Department encourage parents to bring their kids in for their booster shots before they head back to school.
Whether you take your child to a private physician or stop by the local health department, they say being ahead of the game is best.
"We're going to be very busy obviously because people do tend to put it off, so its better to come on in. You don't have to wait as long and you've got to have that paperwork in order to have your children enrolled in school," says Ed Saidla with West Georgia Health District.
In order to help parents get theirs kids shots out of the way before the first day of school the health department is holding a late clinic on August 4th.
