It's not every day a baby is born weighing more than a sack of potatoes, or even your average sized watermelon. But for one Columbus family it's been a year since their little – or shall we say big – bundle of joy arrived.More >>
Kelly Bryant is a native of Jefferson, Georgia, a small town just north of Athens. Kelly joins Storm Team 9 after working weekend weather and weekday news at our sister station, WDAM in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
While Kelly attended The University of Georgia, she worked in Atlanta at WSB-TV as the senior weather producer for Chief Meteorologist, Glenn Burns. She's had two prior weather internships, both at WSB and WRDW in Augusta, Georgia. Her passion for broadcasting was a natural fit, having a musician for a mom, and a rock ‘n' roll DJ for a dad, but the weather was always a driving force in her interests, especially when her dad would take her up in his plane, and explain how the clouds and wind affected what was going on on the ground. Other than forecasting the weather, Kelly is a lover of all animals, rock n roll, and her close knit family. She is excited to be back in the Peach State!
Her studies include Broadcast News at The University of Georgia, and Atmospheric Sciences at Mississippi State University.
