American Grabs Spot in State Little League Finals

CARTERSVILLE, Ga. (WTVM) - Andrew Tillery drove in the go-ahead run in a 2-run 6th inning, then got the final three outs to earn the save, as American beat Madison County 4-2 on Thursday night to claim a spot in the finals at the Georgia Little League state tournament in Cartersville.

Jackson Mellenberg, Tyler Rebber, and Tillery combined to toss a 6-hitter for American, who is a perfect 5-0 at the tournament.

They'll play Warner Robins American East, a 7-3 winner over East Marietta National in the other semifinal game.

The team from Warner Robins is also unbeaten this week at the state tournament.

First pitch in the state finals is set for 7:00 pm ET.
