AUBURN, AL (WTVM) – More details are revealed as the Auburn police investigate a shooting that resulted in a Sunday morning accident.

Reginald Parham, 20, of Union Springs turned himself in Sunday afternoon for shooting 21-year old Chasman Reese of Opelika.

Reese is in critical condition at a Columbus hospital.

Police say around 2:00 a.m. they responded to a one-car accident in the 1200 block of Shug Jordan Parkway.  Upon arrival, officers quickly noticed the vehicle Reese was driving had bullet holes in it.

Police believe the victim was alone, driving in his car when the suspect wounded him with the shotgun, possibly causing him to lose control and crash into a utility pole.

Police will not say how Parham was able to shoot at the moving vehicle. They do say they believe the suspect and the victim knew each other and a domestic type situation sparked the shooting.

Meanwhile, the suspect remains behind bars at the Lee County Justice Center on a $25,000 bond and charged with attempted murder.

The case remains under investigation.
