PHENIX CITY, AL (WXTX) -  A man accused of shooting and killing his wife in June 2010 is facing a judge this week. Adrian Ezell's murder trial is underway in Phenix City and court started with graphic details of the crime scene.

Bullet shell casings littering a floor, a shattered shower door, and the lifeless body of Felisha Ezell -- those are just some of the photos shown in court of the crime scene Phenix City police officers discovered June 21st 2010.

Some of Felisha's family members had to leave the courtroom because the pictures were so painful to see.

Adrian Ezell's murder trial began with a friend of Felisha's describing her final hours alive. The witness said the couple had been arguing and that was the last she heard from her friend before police say Adrian shot Felisha multiple times in their Jason Drive home.

Phenix City investigators also took the stand, describing how Adrian told dispatchers, other police officers and even family friends that he shot Felisha and he was sorry.

Adrian Ezell has been serving time for murder in the Russell County Jail. His trial will continue Tuesday.
