COLUMBUS, GA (WXTX) - Officers with the Columbus Police Department say they saw Archie Washington walking along the road loitering and prowling.
They tried to stop Washington, but he ran from police. When they caught him, they found the tools for breaking in to a car in his backpack.
He was arrested and charged with the possession of tools for the commission of a crime.
After interviewing 53-year-old Washington, police connected him to 112 car break-ins in the Midtown, Castlewood and Sears Woods area of Columbus.
The break-ins occurred in the past two weeks.
Washington is in the Muscogee County Jail with a $6000 bond.
Columbus Police are trying to recover some of the stolen items and notify victims.
