Auburn Still Looking for Wide Receivers

AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - Now that Auburn's quarterback competition is settled, the Tigers can focus on finding players to catch the passes.

The Tigers have only one proven wide receiver in Emory Blake. There's a number of youngsters in the mix for playing time, including redshirt freshman Trovon Reed and fresh-from-high school Jaylon Denson and C.J. Uzomah.

Blake is the only returning wideout who caught more than three balls last season.

Receivers coach Trooper Taylor says his confidence level has grown since Barrett Trotter was named the starting quarterback, allowing more practice time to develop timing.

He has been in this situation before, after all. Adams and Terrell Zachery had five catches in 2008 and wound up with a combined 181 receptions for 3,042 yards the past two seasons.
