LEE COUNTY, AL (WTVM) - Lee County Coroner Bill Harris confirms a fatal fire in Lee County at a home in Loachapoka at the intersection of Lee Road 397 and 815.

Firefighters were called to the scene around 12:40 a.m. Wednesday.  Once they put the fire out, they discovered a body just before 2:00 a.m.

Investigators are still waiting on positive identification. The coroner tells News Leader 9 he has spoken with possible family members.

In the meantime, the body will be sent to Montgomery to determine the cause of death and a  positive identification.

Investigators tell us the house is a total loss.
