Nicholson named PBC Offensive Player of Week

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Kiana Nicholson has been selected as the Peach Belt Conference Offensive Player of the week as announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon.

Nicholson put up the best week of her young collegiate career as she tallied four goals and an assist to help Columbus State go 3-0 on the week, all of which were road victories.  She started the week by picking up her first collegiate goal versus West Alabama and adding an assist later on the game.  The freshman then knocked in a pair of goals over previously unbeaten No. 21 Nova Southeastern as Columbus State won 5-2.  Nicholson closed out the impressive week with a goal versus PBC foe Flagler Sunday afternoon to give the Saints their first loss in conference action.

Even more impressive with the offensive outburst is that she only needed 11 shots to register the four goals.  Nicholson now ranks third in the PBC with 12 points and is tied for fourth with four goals scored while tying for the conference lead with four assists.

The women's soccer team returns to the pitch Wednesday evening as they play host to Lincoln Memorial at the Walden Soccer Complex.  Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m.
