Former Auburn HS Tiger ready to get back into lineup

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) - With two-time Pro Bowl defensive end Justin Tuck battling a groin issue and a persistent neck injury, Osi Umenyiora could not have picked a better time to get back into the New York Giants' lineup.

The 29-year Umenyiora, a former Auburn High star who tied an NFL record with 10 forced fumbles last season, practiced on a limited basis for the second straight day Thursday, and it appears the two-time Pro Bowler will play for the first time this season when the Giants (2-1) play the Cardinals (1-2) in Arizona on Sunday.

Teammates say that Umenyiora has looked "awesome" in practice, which is good news with Tuck somewhat of a question mark.

Tuck has missed practice the past two days. He does not know if he will be cleared to practice on Friday, but insisted that if he boards to plane for the flight to Phoenix on Saturday, he will play in the game.
