HARRIS COUNTY, GA (WTVM) – The Harris County Sheriff's Department tells News Leader 9, two men were arrested Waverly Hall this week for breaking into to homes.

On Tuesday, a homeowner on Alabama Road reported several long guns and handguns were stolen along with jewelry and a screen TV.

Two men were arrested Thursday afternoon for those crimes following a traffic stop.

Investigators say they spotted a green Mitsubishi with an Alabama tag and a cracked windshield traveling south on Georgia Highway 85.

The driver was not wearing his seat belt.

When deputies pulled the car over, they found two pistols taken from a burglary on September 27th.

Arrested were, Terrell Batiste, 24, of Phenix City, AL and Mylek Lane, 18, of Columbus, GA.

We are told the duo had just burglarized a second house on Highway 85 in Waverly Hall. Most of the property from that burglary was in the vehicle.

Both men have been charged with two counts of burglary, possession of a firearm during the commission of crime and possession of marijuana.

In addition, the driver Terrell Batiste faces charges of driving while license suspended and failure to wear a seat belt.

The duo was out on bond in Columbus for burglary and similar offenses. They are currently being held in the Harris County Jail.
