Former parks and rec employee sues city manager

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A former Columbus Parks and Recreation employee in Columbus has filed a federal lawsuit against two city leaders.

Former Assistant Director Cammie Currie says she was wrongfully discharged.

She's suing City Manager Isaiah Hughley and Deputy City Manager Lisa Goodwin.

In the court documents, Curry claims the two knew about an attempt to defraud the city.

She says she was fired because she was a threat to the conspiracy.

Currie was let go last year following a money scandal in the department that also led to the arrest of two employees.
