Columbus Water Works president to retire after 32 years

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The Board of Water Commissioners tells News Leader 9 Columbus Water Works President Robert Tant will retire after 32 years of service.

Tant began his career with the Atlanta Water Works in 1965 and has been with the Columbus Water Works since his start as Special Project Coordinator in 1979.

Tant became president of the Columbus Water Works in 2009 after serving several years as Executive Vice President and Director of Strategic Planning.

Not to mention, Tant served in several leadership roles in the community and the industry including serving on the Board of Directors of the Chattahoochee River Keeper, United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley and the North Columbus Rotary Club.

Tant's announcement will give the board time to find a new president. His retirement will kick in July 31st 2012.
