Brookstone, Telfair County pushed to game three in series

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Splitting a pair of walk-off wins on Wednesday pushed Brookstone and Telfair County to a deciding third game in their GHSA Class A second-round softball series.

Elle Turner doubled home Graysen Sanders in the bottom of the seventh inning in the opening game of the series to give Brookstone a 4-3 victory.

Isabel McCluskey hit a solo homer in the fourth inning, and Sydney Weaver had a two-run double in the fifth to account for the other Cougar runs.

In the nightcap, Telfair County rallied from an 8-4 deficit in the fifth inning to force extra innings, and then win 9-8 on an eighth inning run.

The two teams meet on Thursday at 2 p.m. ET at Brookstone for the deciding game. The winner advances to the GHSA state softball tournament, which gets underway on October 28 at South Commons.
