Starting this week, the BlackBerry maker, Research In Motion, will offer the first of a dozen apps free to customers affected by last week's global outage.
The apps, which would cost about $100 on the BlackBerry App World site, will be made available over the next few weeks.
The company is offering the apps instead of cash as payback for the inconvenience that customers endured.
The free apps include:
-Texas Hold'em Poker 2
-Bubble Bash 2
-Photo Editor Ultimate - Ice Cold Apps
-Drive Safe.ly Enterprise
-Nobex Radio™ Premium
-Vlingo Plus: Virtual Assistant
According to the statement, more apps will be added later. The first ones will become available on Wednesday and they will remain free for the rest of the year.
