A major company is breaking ground in just two hours on a facility that will employ between 300 and 400 people. G-E Aviation is holding the ceremony at Auburn Technology Park West.  Expected attendees include Governor Robert Bentley, Congressman Mike Rogers, and Speaker of the Alabama House Mike Hubbard.

 Albany Officer Dies in Crash

An autopsy is scheduled today on an Albany police officer who died Friday afternoon in a fiery crash. 36-year-old Terry Fleming was pursuing two suspected bank robbers when her police cruiser hit another car and burst into flames. She died at Phoebe Putney Hospital. 22-year-olds Kentrell Butler and Wesley Wilkerson have been arrested in the case and are now facing felony murder charges. The 5-year police veteran is the first Albany police officer killed in more than 30 years.

Halloween Candy Safety

Parents, this is one thing you'll definitely want to check your kids' trick-or-treat bags for.  The Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board is warning parents to be on the lookout for gummy bears that are not in their factory wrapping. Officials say videos on Youtube show the candy soaking up vodka quickly and there have been problems with kids getting it in some states.
