COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Here are some of the stories we're following today.

The case of a missing, pregnant woman in Auburn has now turned into a murder investigation. Officers confirm remains found in Tallapoosa County are likely those of Cherri Dawson and her unborn child. Meanwhile, police have also made an arrest in the case. Keith Ware is charged with capital murder. Investigators believe he was Dawson's boyfriend, and father to her unborn child.  No motive or other details were released.  Dawson was an army reservist and mother to a 7-year-old boy.

Get ready to possibly pay more for your power bill. Georgia Power has plans to build a new, nuclear plant near August and customer rates will go up in the process. Federal regulators still have to approve the deal.

It's cold and flu season, but you may not want to rush to the drug store for medicine. That's because the remedy could be right at home. Make sure you tune in to News Leader 9 at 11 on Thursday for Home Remedies Kid's Edition. It's those cures grandma swore by to make you feel better!

And tonight on our sister station, WXTX, are you ready for some white water rafting in the Valley? Our own Jason Dennis took a thrill ride on waters near the Georgia-Tennessee border. He'll show us how much of a splash white water rafting could bring to the economy in the area. That's tonight on Fox 54 News at 10.
