Georgia receives money for prescription drug program

Georgia has been awarded a $400,000 grant to implement a prescription drug monitoring program. The grant will pay for the first two years of the program's operation. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation says prescription drug overdoses statewide claimed close to 600 lives in 2009.

Home Remedies—Kids Edition

When it comes to scrapes and bruises, kids definitely seem to get more than their fair share. Children, in general, are prone to all kinds of ailments especially this time of year. From coughs and sore throats to tummy aches, you don't always have to run to the drugstore or the doctor's office for treatment. News Leader Nine's Barbara Gauthier will share some of the best home remedies in a special report "Home Remedies- Kids Edition" tonight at 11.

We hope you'll spend part of your lunch break with us for News Leader Nine at Noon.
