Did 17-yr-old Stab School Leader to Death?...Talking Dirty

Here's what we are working on for News Leader 9 Morning!

The man accused of killing Muscogee County School Superintendent Jim Burns nearly two decades goes on trial today. 36-year old Kareem Lane was arrested last year. Prosecutors say new, DNA evidence links Lane to the hunting knife police believe was used to kill Burns. At the time of the murder, Lane was a 17-year old student at Shaw High School.

Columbus firefighters continue watching hot spots this morning after the Swift Mill caught fire Saturday. Investigators are also working to determine how and where the blaze started in the building. Meanwhile, throughout the weekend, hundreds of area residents, including some former employees, stopped by the scene to capture photographs of what they consider a piece of local history.

A recent study showed one in six mobile phones had fecal matter on them. That's right, fecal matter on your cell phone! Researchers say you can unknowingly contaminate your phone at all times of the day, so we decided to put some phones to the test. Just how dirty is yours? Watch the full report coming up tonight on News Leader 9 at 11.

Join us for these stories and more this morning beginning at 5:30 AM!
