City council passes alcohol ordinance

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – Columbus area retail businesses are now one step closer to selling beer and wine.

The city council voted during their meeting Tuesday on the ordinance which came up during a special meeting last month.

It will allow retail businesses to apply for a license along with restaurants who cater in off-site locations.

The vote also allows for a relax on brown bagging restrictions.
