Kenneth Jones trial

Opening statements are underway in the capital murder trial of a Lee County man accused of killing his girlfriend's child. Investigators say Kenneth Jones was watching the 14-month old in 2009 when the child became unresponsive. Jones was arrested after autopsy results showed the child died from blunt force trauma.

Dirty Dozen rivers

One of Georgia's top water protection groups has named its "dirty dozen" for this year, in terms of issues with water quality and the Chattahoochee River is 4th on the list. So how clean is the water in Columbus?  Roger Martin, the Chattahoochee River Warden, wouldn't say the river is dirty or hazardous to your health, but he says some of the chemicals that may be in the river are from our front yards. Martin says there is a recommendation for the amount of fish you should be eating from the river. Go to our website wtvm.com and click on the quick links tab for a complete list.
