Snakes top FireAntz to move into 3rd in SPHL

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Orrin Hergott had a goal and three assists to lead the Columbus Cottonmouths to a 5-3 win over the Fayetteville FireAntz on Sunday at the Civic Center.

Fayetteville opened the scoring at the 6:49 mark of the first period when Chris Rebernik beat Ian Vigier with a backhander.

Just 33 seconds later, Jesse Cole scored to tie the game, then at 17:19 of the first period, Levi Lind converted on a rebound off of a Hergott shot to give the Cottonmouths the lead for good.

Andrew Krelove and Bret Tyler scored second period goals, while Hergott added his score late in the third period to ice the win.

Vigier had 21 saves to pick up his second victory of the season.
