Undercover investigation finds 56-year-old prostitute

(Columbus Police Department) (Columbus Police Department)
COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Undercover police were in the area of Garden Dr. looking for illegal activity on Nov. 8. They saw a black vehicle parked in a "For Rent" property and thought it was suspicious.

As they closed in to investigate, the car backed out of the driveway and drove away. They made several turns and blew past stop signs to shake their tail, but police eventually pulled them over.

The driver, Charles McClain, was taken to the police car while Wendy Hollis stayed at the car for questioning. McClain said he picked up the passenger to take her to a friend's house. Funny thing was that he didn't know her name or anything about her. He claimed that he was in the driveway of the "for rent" property to drop her off.

Hollis said she was picked up on Dawson St. and that the driver was just giving her a ride to her house. She also didn't know anything about her driver, including his name. She said that her friend lives behind the "For Rent" house but wasn't home.

McClain had $380 and a condom in his pockets. Hollis had $20. Police found that Hollis has a long criminal history of loitering for the purpose of prostitution. She was given a principal summons for the charge.
