Former Columbus police chief dies

COLUMBUS, GA (WXTX) – Former Columbus Police Chief Curtis McClung passed away Wednesday after battling sickness for years.

The former Marine served on the police department's top seat from 1971 to 1980.

During that time, McClung was faced with an increase of crime.

There is no word on funeral service arrangements at this time.
