COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Steve Toms, manager of Gold and Silver Trading Center, was killed this week inside the jewelry store. Preliminary autopsy results show that Toms was shot multiple times and died from gunshot wounds to the head, neck and chest.

Around 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, police were called to the jewelry store at the intersection of Gentian Boulevard and Reese Road. Toms was discovered that morning by his business partner, Bob Upchurch. It is believed that he was killed sometime between 5:00 p.m. Tuesday and early Wednesday morning.

Dozens of family and friends gathered in the parking lot of Gold and Silver Trading Center Wednesday morning.

Several business owners in the area say it was not normal to see Tom's red SUV parked at the business after 6:00 p.m. Tuesday. Witnesses add the SUV was still there Wednesday morning.

Investigators tell us they have several leads, but no suspects.  If you have any information that can aid investigators please call the Columbus Police Department.
