COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – A local pizzeria was held up by an armed gunman, and now police are asking for residents' help in capturing him.

On the night of November 2 employees at this Johnny's Pizza in Columbus became the victims of an armed robbery.

The victims told police the suspect entered the business around 11 p.m. with a white towel over his face and armed with a black handgun.

They say he demanded money from the register and suddenly a confrontation began.

"He hit one of the employees with the gun on the head and turned and shot the other employee," says Officer Deborah Whittley with Columbus Police Department.

The suspect is described as a black male in his late teens to early 20s, 5'5 to 5'7 inches tall. He weighs between 130-to-140 pounds; he has a medium to dark complexion and was last seen wearing a black shirt, white pants and black shoes.

Because there are no photos of the suspect, police are depending on the public for help.

"There are a lot of different ways that the suspect is identified and then through the investigation, that's how it's determined," says Officer Whittley.
