Valley Rescue Mission feeds hundreds at Annual Banquet

The Valley Rescue Mission has been serving families in need for over forty years. This year is no different. Over a hundred volunteers came out today to help serve food for the annual Thanksgiving Banquet.

"It's an opportunity for us to serve Christ within the community which is what valley rescue mission is all about," said Rhonda Mobley, the executive director of the Valley Rescue Mission.

This is Delbert Kirby's second year coming to the Valley Rescue Mission Banquet. He and hundreds of others are thankful for the meal prepared by volunteers willing to give their time this Thanksgiving.

"It's good to have people come out and have Thanksgiving with family and members of Valley Rescue mission," Kirby said.

"We have pans and pans of dressing, green beans, mash potatoes and gravy everything that you wouldn't want," Mobley said.

Chef Ruben James works at the Valley Rescue Mission year round and helped prepare this year's Thanksgiving Meal. He says it's good to be able to give back to the community and those in need.

"I just feel it's a great need especially at this time not just to the holiday seasons but doing these economic times to try and help those in need," James said.
