Columbus police investigate husband and wife murder-suicide

COLUMBUS, GA (WXTX) -

Columbus Police are investigating a possible murder and suicide at Huckleberry Hills Apartments.

Police tell us officers were conducting a welfare check around 7 o'clock Saturday evening on Saint Mary's Road when they discovered two bodies inside one of the apartments.

We're told 21 year old Ruby Grant and her husband 27 year old Freddie Grant were found dead from gunshot wounds inside their apartment. The investigation reveals Ruby was shot before Freddie turned the gun on himself.

Police say they are investigating this as a murder/suicide, and the case is not closed.
