Lowndes Co. deputy suspended

Posted: Updated:

A Lowndes County deputy is suspended for driving a patrol car to work after drinking alcohol.

The sheriff confirms that when Sergeant Mark Selph showed up for work last Wednesday morning, he smelled of alcohol.

Selph admitted he'd had a drink that morning and was given a breathalyzer.

The sheriff says Selph blew under one percent and was not legally drunk. Selph was demoted and suspended.

He's worked for the county for 20 years.
