COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Special agents tell News Leader 9 a pediatrician, who recently moved to Columbus, is facing charges involving child pornography.

Dr. Yancy Craft, 41, was arrested Thursday afternoon by the Muscogee County Marshal's Office and charged with federal criminal complaint for possession and receipt of child pornography.

Undercover officers say they flagged Craft after evidence came to their attention in an interstate child pornography investigation.

Recently, FBI Memphis Crimes Against Children Task Force transferred this case to Columbus investigators when word got out that Craft, a pediatrician, moved to the area to practice medicine.

Craft recently moved to Columbus from Memphis, TN where he was a practicing pediatrician. Before that, he practiced medicine in Arkansas - Bentonville and Little Rock.

Agents tell us, Craft also goes by the name of Travis Mobley and that he had not set up a practice in Columbus.

Craft appeared in front of a U.S. Magistrate Judge in Federal Court Thursday afternoon and pled not guilty.

Craft's lawyer, Richard Hagler, said, "The allegations have absolutely nothing to do with the fact that he was a licensed pediatrician. And, there is no allegation that his former practice was in any way related to these charges. So, that is a mere coincidence."

News Leader 9 is following this story. We'll have the latest information as soon as it becomes available.
