UGA Players with Columbus ties

The Georgia Bulldogs will be playing on the SEC's biggest stage this Saturday as they take on LSU for the conference championship.

Some of the bulldogs in the game have humble beginnings in Columbus.

After finishing their homework, Jon and Delray Stephens spend most afternoons practicing football, hoping one day to play like their brother, Jarvis Jones.

Jones is University of Georgia Bulldog Linebacker, #29.

Jon and Delray have been to several games to watch Jarvis play between the hedges.  And, they will be at the SEC Championship game on Saturday in Atlanta.

They do not just cheer for their brother, but all the bulldogs who call Columbus home. Isaiah Crowell, Quintavious Harrow, Bruce Figgins, and Greg Bingham are also from the "706."

Jones' mom, Shelley Stephens, said, "I think they are going to shock some people."

Jarvis Jones' mom says her son is not nervous about the game on Saturday.  She knew growing up his work ethic would pay off.  "I am extremely proud of Jarvis, he has excelled way beyond his own expectations," said Stephens.

Jon and Delray are predicting the score against LSU to be 45-7, for the bulldogs.
