Columbus apartment fire quickly contained

Crews had to work quickly overnight to put out a fire at an apartment building in Columbus.

The fire happened in the Hamilton Station Apartments on Double Churches Road at about 2:12 a.m. Sunday.

Smoke was noticed by resident who then called 9-1-1.

Firefighters found an 8 unit wood frame building on fire.  They believe the fire started inside the floor space between two units.

It took firefighters 36 minutes to contain the fire.

The fire left four units untenable. The damage is estimated to be around $200,000 at minimum to the structure alone.

No injuries were reported.
