AUBURN, AL (WTVM) – Auburn defensive coordinator Ted Roof has left the Tiger program to take the same position at Central Florida.
Roof spent three years running the Dee at Auburn, including the National Championship season of 2010.
This year, the Tiger defense struggled, slipping all the way to 78th nationally, though they may have had the youngest group in the country as well.
At Central Florida, Roof rejoins his boss from his Georgia Tech days, George O'Leary.
Roof was a Broyles Award finalist back in 2000.
No word on who'll run the tiger defense for their Chick-fil-A Bowl battle with Virginia on New Year's Eve.
