Three of the four men suspected of robbing and killing a Columbus man in June 2010 are in the middle of their murder trial.
Tavares Lowe, Willie Jones and Shannon Fields are all in court this week, charged with robbing and then murdering 30 year old Wayman James Jr.
Police say the crime happened just after midnight on June 15, 2010 at the Decatur Court Apartments in Columbus. Witnesses tell police they saw men dressed in all black with a shotgun and one of the suspects admitted to the shooting while running away from the scene.
The fourth suspect, Ronnie Blue, is not on trial this week because his attorney is on medical leave.
Testimony revealed Wayman James Jr. was shot once in the back of the head with a shotgun.
FOX 54 also learned in court the suspects got away with cash and a handgun before killing the victim. All four suspects are charged with possession of a firearm and armed robbery along with murder.
Their trial will continue Thursday.
